Gilded bronze amitayus seated in dhyanasana on a platform raised by a series of lotus branches and leaves. The amitayus is dressed in an ample robe, with an elaborate headdress and adorned with rich jewels. A detachable mandorla of flames at the back.

Cast bronze with some of the copper ornamentation embossed. Although this statuette is undated, it was made in large quantities for the birthday of the Qianlong emperor’s mother.
