Beautiful Shiwen 识文描金 rectangular lacquer box, for precious documents the lid entirely covered with a decoration in light relief, gold lacquered on a red lacquer background in two shades allowing to play on the nuances, The top of the lid features three dragons, one of which is in front, while the long sides are adorned respectively with two passing dragons opposing each other on either side of the jewel, with a dragon in front occupying the short sides.
The lower part of the box, in black lacquer, rests on four small feet. It has a low rim and is bordered by a frieze of stylized gold-lacquered scrolls and foliage. On the lid, a cartouche bears a four-character maxim on a lattice background,
