Blue and white porcelain bowl mounted on a small foot, the inner part featuring a white in-reserve decoration on a blue background of lotus scrolls in a central medallion bordered by a double blue border, with a frieze of flowers at the edge. The outer wall is flared and decorated with branches of seasonal flowers. A six-character Kangxi mark within a double blue border below the base.

Provenance: Collection of Mr. Joao Rodrigues Simoes Affra, posted to the Portuguese Embassy in Shanghai between 1945 and 1950, passed down through the generations.
