Covered vase in carved ivory* The vase is entirely carved in relief with a profusion of decoration based on the auspicious theme of the “Hundred Children”. Processions of young boys in pavilions enliven the body. A frieze of ruyi and bats separates the body from the shoulder, which itself features a procession of children. The lid features in high relief a boy playing a flute, the other laughing, and a frieze of children playing in a group.
