Important imperial gold medal awarded for the construction of the Fuzhou arsenal (1874). One side features two dragons surrounding a column of four characters. At the top are Da and Qing characters on either side of a sun. On the reverse, the same characters are surrounded by clouds. Both sides are adorned with a border of Greek friezes.

Provenance:
Offered to the great-uncle of Mme. Mathilde Guezet, grandmother of the current owner. He participated in the construction of the Fuzhou arsenal in the second half of the 19th century.
