An important Gu-shaped porcelain vase decorated with rocks and flowering branches, featuring baskets of flowers and fruit in the central part and a series of flower scrolls in the upper part. The neck is decorated with a frieze of palmettes and scrolls in the upper part, interrupted by a rectangle revealing a horizontal mark with six Wanli characters corresponding to the vase’s period.

Provenance: Paris private collection, Mr. Casenave. Purchased by the current owner’s great-great-uncle, a diplomat in Peking around 1875.
