Porcelain bowl mounted on a small foot, the flared outer wall decorated with lotus scrolls in polychrome enamels on a ruby ground, inside, a flowering branch in a central medallion bordered by a double iron-red and gold border, a frieze of flowers around the edge. A six-character Xianfeng mark in iron red below the base.

Provenance: Collection of Mr. Joao Rodrigues Simoes Affra, posted to the Portuguese Embassy in Shanghai between 1945 and 1950, passed down through the generations.
