Kangxi ewer in powder-blue porcelain with gilded decoration of flowers and spider webs on the body against a blue background, the spout and neck covered with a later silver mount.
Height: 31.5 cm
Modern frames.
This ewer is of a type known to have been made in China for the export market, as evidenced by its Persian shape. In this case, it is interesting to note that it ended up in the Ottoman Empire. A similar example can be found in the Anastacio Gonçalves Museum in Lisbon (inv. CMAG 330).
