A rare porcelain vase, Meiping, with a globular body swollen at the shoulders and terminating in a delicate raised neck, the monochrome glaze displaying a reddish-brown color known as ‘mullet liver’. A six-character Xuande mark within a double circle in underglaze blue under the base.

Firing crack at the neck, traces of neck at the base, possibly formerly mounted as a lamp or using European bronzes.
