A rare statuette of Avalokiteshvara in lacquered and gilded bronze, the three-headed, six-armed deity is shown seated, wearing a long tunic held together with ribbons. Each hand holding an attribute, she is adorned with rich necklaces and jewels. The central face is serene, while the other two are wrathful and semi-wrathful.
The style of the side faces and the type of gilded lacquer on red plate are reminiscent of productions from the Kingdom of Dali, although the overall style differs in a few respects.
Provenance:
Brought back by the daughter of Mr. Jean Alazard, military officer and head of the French police in Indochina, on his return to France in 1956. Then by descent.

The base is missing, there is a slight casting defect and the lower part of the turban is missing. Wear and tear to the gilded lacquer.
