Small album comprising eight accordion-fold double-page spreads in ink on paper, bearing in calligraphy the preface written by the Qianlong emperor on the occasion of the stone engraving of thirteen Confucian classics, taken from the canonical books calligraphed by Jiang Heng in the Piyong Palace at the Temple of Confucius.

Signed: Dai Quheng (1755-1811), winner of the grand mandarin examination and minister to the Court. Mounted in an album with zitan wood cover.
