Gilded bronze statuette depicting Buddha seated in dhyanasana meditation, right hand in abhaya mudra, left hand resting on his left knee. A long robe with delicate folds is held by a belt tied around the torso, the face presents a serene expression, the ears with stretched lobes, the hair gathered in bunches and gathering around the ushnisha.

Provenance:
In the current owner’s family for three generations, brought from China in the early 20th century.

Hole and crack on back, missing base, missing back part of headpiece, firing defect and missing front of right shoulder, wear and missing gilding.
