Two porcelain ‘cup of the month’ wine goblets with green family decoration, a poem and Shang appreciation mark on the reverse.
These imperial goblets are part of a group of twelve, each representing one of the months of the year.
Height: 5 cm
Diameter: 6.5 cm
One bears a Kangxi mark, with a crack and a slight firing defect on the neck.
The second bears a Yongzheng mark, with a crack running right through the neck.
Provenance: Spoerry Collection, inventoried in the collection notebook under number 1065.
An invoice from Companie Chinoise Tonying in Paris dated November 1936 accompanies this lot.
Two Chinese 18th century Kangxi mark and Yongzheng mark imperial famille verte ‘month’ cups decorated with trees corresponding to months of the year and poems.
Provenance: Spoerry collection, mentioned in the collector’s personal inventory under the number 1065.
An invoice from the Companie Chinoise Tonying à Paris dated November 1936 comes with this lot.
